Unifying with Diversity

How do we live diversity within our own bodies?

Carly began to truly understand the relationship between mind and body during a Vipassana meditation retreat where she sat for 11 hours a day observing the sensations in her body. She began to see the electrical currents in her brain when thoughts appeared, observing how every thought created multiple sensations in her body. As she continued on with the study of somatic movement and expressive arts therapy with Tamalpa (started by Anna & Daria Halprin), she recognized the tightness in her legs from childhood abuse, the constriction in her chest from the chronic fear of revealing her truth, she relived her traumatic birth while dancing her pelvis. She uses the sensations in her body to tap into the energetic fields of plants, people and places. Her body reveals wisdom and answers when her mind gets in the way. She has learned to recreate new thought patterns and beliefs by shifting her physiology. She has spent 20 years deep-diving into the wonders of the body through dance, art, theater, modeling, massage, yoga, somatic movement, meditation, shamanism and somatic ecology. She lives, works, teaches and performs in France, Italy and in the SF Bay Area.
