Meditation and Breathwork

Skillfully Navigating the Dark Night

Dr. Daniel M. Ingram is a retired emergency medicine physician and also trained as an epidemiologist. He is the Author of the cult classic Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha, an Unusually Hardcore Dharma Book, as well as co-author of The Fire Kasina. He is a co-founder of the Dharma Overground (www.dharmaoverground.org), a large online community dedicated to explorations of deep meditation practice. He is a cofounder of The Fire Kasina website (www.firekasina.org). He is a meditation teacher and practitioner with over 27 years of experience. He has a particular interest in deep, technical practice, deep exploration of the path, and adventuring in unusual meditation territory. He is a longtime student of the maps of meditation, advanced meditative phenomenology, and the range of possibilities that practice may bring. His primary focus these days is organizing researchers and other academics to study how to bring a functional awareness of the deep end of spiritual and meditative experiences to the clinical mainstream, to finding ways to fund the science that will require, and to supporting those doing that important work. This project is called The Emergent Phenomenology Research Consortium (www.theeprc.org), and, if you are interested in helping do the research or helping to financially support that research, Daniel would love to speak with you about that.
