Aikido for Bodyworkers & Therapists

Jamie Leno Zimron Sensei has been on the mat since 1976 at Stanford University, and teaching since opening the first-ever Women’s Aikido School in San Francisco in 1980. She is a California Marriage Family Therapist, Master Bodyworker, LPGA Golf Professional, Corporate Speaker, Executive Coach, Mind-Body Fitness Trainer, and international Citizen’s Diplomat. Jamie has studied with many masters and integrates an array of bodywork modalities. She conducted a busy private practice in the Bay Area, and anchored somatic psychotherapy at The Institute for Personal Change. She completed a 2-year therapists’ training program with Peter Levine in the 1980s, and weaves Juawayne Kettler’s BLISS Fitness into all her work (Balance Lengthen Integrate Stretch Strengthen). Zimron Sensei helped introduce Aikido into the ex-Soviet Union, Palestine and Ethiopia, and since 2005 has served on the Aiki Extensions Board. She co-founded the Middle East Aikido Project and has worked closely with Training Across Borders, Budo For Peace, Aikido Ethiopia, PeaceCamp Initiative and Aiki Seeds Grants since their inception. She is a pioneer in women’s embodiment and empowerment, co-founding the Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors, Israel Women’s Martial Arts Federation, and Aikido Solstice Seminars during COVID. Zimron Sensei is an original member of the Women Martial Artists Hall of Fame, and is a national Award of Excellence and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient in recognition of her profound contributions both on and off the mat. Jamie’s innovative Aiki-based embodiment work continues in sports, business, leadership, holistic healing and peacebuilding. She is the creator of KiAi Golf and The Centered Way LLC, and is dedicated to bringing Aikido's principles of peaceful power and harmonious inter-relationship to mainstream society.
