Lawrence Koichi Barrish is the Negi/ Senior Shinto Priest of Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America. The only Shinto Shrine operating on North American soil, Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America is the US Branch Shrine of one of Japan’s oldest and most prestigious Shinto Shrines. Barrish sensei was the first non-Japnese person to receive the license of the Jinja Shinto Priest, has also been deeply involved in the esoteric elements of the Jinja Shinto: Chinkon/ meditation and Misogi Shuho/ purification for many decades and has been training daily (and teaching) Aikido movement for over 50 years.
