Mary Gordon is an award-winning social entrepreneur, educator, author and parenting expert who has created an international children’s charity, Roots of Empathy. Ms. Gordon’s work has been recognized by the UN, the WHO, and the Dalai Lama. She has been honored with the Governor General of Canada Award for innovation and presented with the Order of Canada. Her empathy-based program, Roots of Empathy, taps in to the emotional lives of children, their creativity, imagination, and has research confirming its impact from three continents. Research on Roots of Empathy shows that as children’s empathy increases, aggression and bullying decrease, and prosocial behaviors increase. These changes last over time.
