Dance and Creativity

Design meets the body; How perspectives from conscious dance and embodiment coaching integrate with the design process to develop a more human-centred design practice

Matt Shearing is a visual artist & designer, who works bringing his creativity and an agile, iterative approach to embodiment and design. As well as designing the logo for this Conference and most of Mark Walsh's Courses, he has brought kanban boards to the Embodied Facilitator Course kitchen and has been part of the UK embodiment community for over 20 years as a 5Rhythms dancer, yogi, buddhist and tai chi practitioner.

Design has moved on from a tool for shaping the world in its image to become a listening, iterative and responsive practice. We will explore the Double Diamond: (Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver), a design process created by the UK Design Council, and explore how embodied coaching methodology can bring 'brainstorming' into a more full body somatic experience for understanding your design needs.
