Intergenerational Trauma and Resilience: Embodying Social Change

Nidhi Tewari, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, and EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, who specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults coping with trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and stress. She believes in the power of becoming our fully embodied, authentic selves through healing the traumas that we have survived and embracing the resilience that comes with being a survivor. She is a field instructor for the Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work programs at Virginia Commonwealth University, and has provided trainings on EMDR concepts and trauma-informed care to physicians and clinicians within Virginia Commonwealth University's Health System, Henrico County Public Schools, Henrico County Area Mental Health and Developmental Services, the Virginia Association of School Social Workers, and the Virginia Society for Clinical Social Workers. In her free time, she is a lover of music of all types, has played the drums for over 10 years, and has sang for even longer. She has rocked the stage many times alongside my husband, and loves embracing her creative and artsy side. As a foodie and locavore, she loves Richmond, Virginia and sees this beautiful city on the river as the place her soul feels happiest. She is an LGBTQ+ ally, and prides herself in accepting people from all walks of life.
