Nikola Ellis is a certified yoga therapist, psychotherapist and counsellor with a background in public health. She has been immersed in yoga for over 25 years, studying with leading international teachers including TKV Desikachar. Nikola founded Adore Yoga in Sydney in 2002, where she and her team develop evidence-based yoga programs for special needs populations, including clients of cancer services, mental health services, addiction recovery centres and domestic violence services. Nikola has undertaken research on yoga for adolescents with anorexia, consulted for RSL Defence Care on trauma-informed yoga programs for veterans and is the founder of Pink Yoga, a project dedicated to making yoga available to women with cancer. For more than a decade Nikola has been training both yoga teachers and healthcare professionals to use the tools of yoga and meditation in health care settings. She developed Australia's first AAYT accredited 650hr Yoga Therapy Teacher Training, the country's most advanced recognised qualification in yoga.
