In the midst of the global pandemic, climate change and uprisings for equity and justice, how do we understand the connections between personal and systemic transformation? These are interrelated processes, and can either be co-serving or at odds. In this session, we'll explore how we are shaped by multiple levels of experience - from the very personal and familial, to community, institutions, social norms and even landscape. We'll discuss why it is so vital that we have an understanding of social conditions and their impact on leadership and our lives. Somatics posits that safety, belonging, and dignity are core needs for all people. Yet, social conditions do not meet these needs equitably. How do we address this as people, leaders and communities? Lastly, personal and social transformation are interdependent yet distinct processes, how can each, at its best, support the other?
