Inner Activism: Becoming The Change

How do environmental stewardship, social justice activism, and educational reform apply on the inside?

Lila Johnson is a body-based presence practitioner facilitating online shared practices since 2017. Struck by debilitating illness in 2009, her fast-paced, values-driven activism (environment, social justice, multicultural education) was stopped cold. First searching for answers and then surrendering to the unfolding of life, Lila came to realize she had spent the majority of her life in her head, the conceptual realm, and the individual experience. Being led by her own body and integrating the wisdom of many teachers (including sacred traditional wisdom throughout the world and individuals such as Tara Brach, Joanna Macy, Caroline Casey, Claire Zammit, Mooji, Paul Selig, Thomas Hübl, Philip Shepherd) she has developed a personal practice of full body awareness, present moment engagement, and relational availability. Sharing this practice in peer-to-peer engagement deepens the ex-/ins-perience for all parties. Rewiring attention from control-oriented mental strategizing to sensitivity-oriented whole-being harmonizing is an upgrade she’s happy to share.
