Internal Flow, Yoga & the Neurobiology of Wellness

Morgan came to yoga at 18 to manage a profound scoliosis and eventual major spinal fusion surgery. Though traumatic and involving a lengthy rehabilitation period, it gave him a new lease on life and led to him developing a committed yoga practice, learning deeply first-hand about the healing process. Hailing from Aotearoa-New Zealand and now based in Spain, Morgan’s path took him around the world, from ashrams in the Himalayas to the alkaline sands of Burning Man, the streets of east London and the jungles of Ecuador. Making his home for the past decade in Barcelona, he co-founded numerous yoga and wellness projects such as NowHere Yoga (www.nowhere.yoga) and Agni Spirit Festival (www.agnispiritfestival.com). He is currently Director of Amara Valley Eco Retreat, a 100% off-grid centre for retreats, trainings and regenerative culture (www.amaravalley.com). His latest research and teaching project is called Antara Flow, an intensive neurohacking movement practice combining Synergy Flow yoga, conscious breathwork, meditation, and binaural beat brainwave entrainment via wireless headphones. Bringing these elements together greatly facilitates shifting into a state of “flow”, and can directly enhance key wellness indicators like increased heart rate variability, breath hold capacity, and a sense of oneness with our experience and the World.
