Embodiment is for Every Body -Have you ever seen an ad for a yoga, dance, or tantric workshop and thought, “They don’t look like me”?

Trauma and Social Change

Health At Every Size and Body Liberation

Sharon Jeyakumar, Ph.D. - Sharon is a clinical psychologist with a private therapy practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. She received her Doctorate and Master of Arts from the University of Windsor, and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia. For the past twenty years, starting with her first student clients as a graduate trainee, Sharon’s therapy work has been her dream job. Through witnessing the extraordinary vulnerability, remarkable strength and courage, and inspiring growth and transformation in her clients, Sharon never ceases to be amazed by what the human spirit is capable of when in connection with self and other. Having observed the transformative healing that takes place in simply feeling safe enough to reveal oneself to another and be seen, Sharon has developed a strong interest in relational group processes and social technologies that foster relationship- and community-building outside the therapy office through the same principles of authentic, embodied connection. Intrinsic to this interest is a strong passion for helping people develop the skills to connect meaningfully with others, beyond external appearances, and enable them to reach out to the non-dominant voices in the room, so that everyone can be seen, valued, and included.
