Trish Bartley has been working in the field of mindfulness-based approaches for people with
cancer since 2001. She adapted and taught Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Cancer
to patients in a regional oncology department for many years - and alongside her clinical
work, now also trains and supervises mindfulness teachers to teach the programme in many
parts of the world. She has written two books on the subject - Mindfulness-based Cognitive
Therapy for Cancer (2012), a teachers handbook and Mindfulness, A KIndly Approach to
Being with Cancer (2017), a book for people with cancer to work through in their own time.
Trish is one of the founder teachers of the Centre for Mindfulness, Research and Practice at
Bangor University - and a member of the core training team with The Mindfulness Network.
She regularly trains teachers, runs workshops, and leads retreat in the UK, Europe and further
afield. Her background is in Community Development and she has significant ties with South
Africa.
