Embodiment refers to more than a discrete physical self. It also includes all the relationships of that self. To be embodied is to participate in sensual relationships with the material world. Without these, we become lost -- lost in a maze of opinions, numbers, and facts abstracted from tangible experience. Technology and the pandemic have heightened this disconnection, with devastating effects on health and civic cohesion. The way back to wholeness starts with reclaiming the relationships of our material selves.
