In this presentation, Shaner Sensei will share his Three Orders of Bodymind Awareness as described in his memoir “Living With The Wind At Your Back: Seven Arts to Positively Transform Your Life”. Bodymind Awareness serves as the foundation for learning and implementing self-care strategies for managing chronic/persistent pain. Shaner Sensei will share his personal story using Ki Breathing (Ki no Kokyuho), Ki Meditation (Ki no Ishiho), Ki Therapy (Kiatsu Ryoho), and daily life exercises in order to provide "self-care” that he has used to manage his persistent pain over the last 51 years. The four self-care skills that can be developed and improved upon are the ability to 1) focus, 2) sustain focus, 3) relax and 4) connect with others.
