The world is complicated and messy, and so are our relationships. Whether romantic, sexual, business, or friendship-based, today’s relationships often cross boundaries of nationality, race, class, age, religion, abilities, and culture. But many societies still promote heteronormative ideas about relationship and family life and do not prepare us to navigate these differences.
We’ll talk about the conscious and unconscious use of power in relationship, and how to deal with the intersectionality of personal and social powers within you, and between you. By developing skills to name, honor and negotiate differences, our partnerships can deepen and transform. Plus, we learn about the world and participate in making it a better place for all.
