In this session, participants will access and use a positive memory to self-resource an issue that is stuck in their lives. They will do so using the deep self-listening practice of Focusing, created by Eugene Gendlin.

We will begin by exploring memories connected to each of the 8Cs of Self-leadership. The 8Cs are calm, connectedness, curiosity, clarity, compassion, confidence, courage and creativity. Richard Schwartz named the 8Cs in Internal Family System (IFS). We will then pick one aspect of self-leadership to tease out fully, by really bringing its related memory to life in the body, by re-experiencing it vividly, and naming it. Naming the part allows us to more easily access it—later in the session and in general. Finally, participants will be guided to bring this evoked and named part of their self-leadership into a stuck issue they'd like to move forward. By bringing the stuck issue, and any of its parts or positions, to dialogue with our active self-leadership, we bring a new perspective that results with change. Participants can expect to leave the session with new ideas for how to deal with the issue, or may even find that it is now resolved.
