What links mindfulness, psychedelics, nature connection, dance, ritual and Focusing?
They can all help us access our deepest embodied knowing and awaken from what Thich Nhat Hanh calls the “illusion of separateness”. Each of them offers a pathway to connect our everyday awareness to our deeper intuitions and beliefs. They can also reveal our intimate connection to nature – the _other-than-human world_. These pathways are all embodied, so I call them the Embodied Pathways of Connection (EPoC). The EPoC are found across all spiritual practices and in almost every psychotherapeutic approach.
Each of the EPoC can facilitate profound experiences of connection, relationship, expansion and the dissolution of boundaries. They all seems to be arriving at the same place; the wisdom of the body. How can such diverse practices have such dramatic – and similar – effects? The philosopher and psychotherapist Eugene Gendlin gave us part of the answer when he wrote that the “physically felt body is in fact part of a gigantic system of here and other places, now and other times, you and other people – in fact, the whole universe”.
In this session Adrian Harris will explain how the EPoC work and offer you practical ways to bring their healing power into your life.
