Part drawing workshop, part deep listening practice, part meditation on what constitutes the ‘Self’, this session invites an experiential, intuitive and playful exploration of the ecologies that make up our individual bodyminds. Moving through a series of guided drawing exercises, this session will see participants map out the layers of their own bodyminds, creating a ‘depth self-portrait’ in the process. This will lead to a contemplation of and communion with our ‘second body’ - the body, or spaces, we share - and a reflection on the threads and forces that bind our bodyminds with other life forms. Through the humble, ancient and grounding practice of drawing, are we able to access heightened understandings or awareness of what our bodyminds encompass? Are we able to gently reimagine the parameters of our bodyminds? Are we able to experience self as Country? For this session you will need:- Two or three sheets of paper (the bigger the better – A3 or A2 recommended! Though you may work with whatever you have on hand). \- Drawing tools (as little as a pencil or two, however you might like to bring a small spread of drawing materials along, such as charcoal, crayons or pens). This session is open to everyone. No formal drawing experience or training is required – your curiosity and willingness to explore is all that is needed.
