Pain is a reality of modern human performance environments. Our traditional models were to either ignore it, or treat it as the domain of skilled medical professionals. This antiquated paradigm largely left pain untreated until it interfered with an athlete's ability to compete or perform. Furthermore, it failed to tap into the latent potential of working coaches and trainers to safely and effectively help the athlete manage simple musculoskeletal problems.
