From wise sorceress and queen, to lover, wife and mother, to murderer of her own children and finally to Immortal flying away from her partner and ending up in the heavens. We will explore some possible interpretations of Medea’s story, in an attempt to make sense of it, and find its use in our daily lives and relationships.  Vaso Papali’s perspective is that one of the ways  we  Medea’s  story can be used is as a metaphor for destruction.  We’ve all felt betrayed, hurt,  jealous, or angry. How do we break free from the pain without turning  against ourselves, our relationships, or loved ones?  Destroying old patterns, cutting the cords of old relationships or habits that hold us back and becoming free of addictions and beliefs can be the key. It can unlock the path to creativity, growth and the attaining of a deeper, more intimate and nourishing connection to ourselves, and others.  Whatever role we find ourselves in (parent, child, sibling, partner, leader, employee, or any other), as well as in the relationship with our own self, the Ancient Greek Archetypes can be a source of inspiration. We will discuss the myth, the way Vaso has used it through a dramatherapy approach, and explore ideas for an embodied investigation  and connecting to this Archetype  within us.
